If anybody is deeply interested in the subject of fertility, a really excellent below-the-radar Substack to check out is Periods by Dr. David Sable. He's a medical doctor trained in obstetrics & gynecology, a leading IVF/fertility expert, an adjunct in the department of biology at Columbia University, and a life sciences investor https://dbsable.substack.com/

about 15 yrs ago i had a 1/2 whipple, removing about a 1/3 of my "pre" cancerous pancreas. the operation was for all intensive purposes a success. i had been fine up until about six months ago when i started having severe pancreatic attacks and my digestive system basically went to shit. the doctors ran all sorts of invasive tests and fortunately no cancer was found all though they couldn't identify what was causing internal bleeding which required two emergency blood transfusion. the surgeon who preformed the whipple at GW Hospital told me rather matter-of-factly that what was left of my pancreas was getting old and just not working very well anymore and there wasn't anything they could do about it but prescribe enzymes which even with my insurance are not in my budget. basically, i just wanted to say thank you for suggesting this article. with what seems like all thing AI in the media i consume it was exciting to read something very relevant to me personally. Thanks
