CPI holds steady while PPI sees large monthly increase, Europe continues to lose IPO listings to the U.S., researchers develop an AI model that can detect inner monologue with 74% accuracy, and more.
Patent overhaul + AI = huge implications. Maybe a good Deep Dive? When I first saw the news of the current administration exploring an overhaul of the patent system, I immediately thought about it as potentially a preemptive move in anticipation of the AI/LLM-driven surge in filings - both in generating new ideas and in automating the paperwork. Do you think there’s anything we should be on the lookout for here?
Chamath - With the 3rd Congress hearing taking place next month, we would love to hear your take on the UAP topic and what challenges it will create as disclosure looms on the horizon.
The intro to the Gen Z treat article was most interesting to me. I always scan this newsletter but can almost never read the articles because most of them are paywalled. Your occasional article summaries are helpful.
Great read. Very curious to hear more about how LLM's are going to change distribution. Starting with organic traffic (ie Profound), but especially once consumer LLMs introduce ads/reward sources that share data.
Not sure if it was on purpose, but META restructuring and the rise of smart glasses is interesting. Meta raybans are by far the most interesting input device for an AI assistant use case.
Agree with Greg’s point 4 in his tweet but what will need to be re-wired for people actually to replace “professional certification” use cases with AI is the accountability and liability aspect that insures you when advice from a certified professional is incorrect.
I think AIUC is an interesting play as well re. insurance for agents.
Chamath — great read as always. Big fan of All-In and have been following 8090 for some months now. We’re a Bay Area startup with a similar thesis: AI-first systems of record[SoR] for ERP (supply chain, field service, etc.). Our approach is some-tailoring rather than fully custom, so we can still deliver “custom” ERP for core SoR while collapsing implementation time and TCO. We do this on an in-house, AI-native multi-tenant, multi-app platform that lets us spin up and adapt apps fast at scale. Would love to share and get your feedback ...
Our Core bet similar to 8090: in the AI era, million-dollar, multi-year Oracle/SAP rollouts won’t hold..
I like the Whitehouse update on Social Security implementing technology improvements.
I wonder if others would find it valuable for government departments to get updates on their strategic plan progress similar to quarterly earning/10Qs for public companies
Smart glass sales figures up from last year. Individuals using a glass wear to determine the future not the smart phone. Leaving hands free is the next logical step
Let me know which article you found most interesting.
And we're aiming to get one Deep Dive out this month and a few to catch up in September. It'll be worth the wait.

Hi Chamath, very impressive work! May I have your email address?

Love this is coming back!

I thought the article stating the short comings of LLMs building software from the angle of context omission was very insightful.
Interesting! Difference between US and EU market structures was illuminating…
